Hawtin PLC

Hawtin PLC was originally founded in 1874. In its 135 year history, Hawtin developed an enviable trading reputation in activities as varied as engineering, distribution, manufacturing and property. Hawtin joined the London Stock Exchange in 1974

Over the years, Hawtin grew through various acquisitions into a group of manufacturing and distribution businesses mainly targeted at the commercial fitness and leisure markets incorporating such firms as Spaform, Certikin International and Gul International. Hawtin held a diverse portfolio of products including gym equipment, solariums, and wetsuit manufacturing as well as a handful of property investments.

The company was completely re-structured in 2002 to focus purely on property development and investment. In 2003 the company floated on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), to allow future development for the Group under the more flexible AIM regulations.

With the purchase of Millennium Plaza in September 2006, and further acquisitions in 2007 of sites in Abercynon, Abercanaid and the Wirral, Hawtin PLC is firmly established as one of Wales leading property investment company’s, and is on track to grow further into a substantial name in the national property market.
